Holiday Outfits ♥

Hey lovelies,

Thought I'd do a cheeky little post about a few of the outfits I wore in Turkey, as I haven't done an OOTD post for a while. I got a few things before I went away - actually,  pretty much all the things I'm wearing on the pictures are new. Ooops. But that does mean they may still be hanging around in the shops, especially in the 'Buy now or regret it later' sections.

Left: Dress Topshop, Belt: Primark, Sandals (Last Year): Primark, Necklace: Topshop
Right: Bandeau: Primark, Skirt: Topshop, Feather Sandals: Primark
Left: Dress: Topshop: Belt: Primark
Middle: Dress: Topshop, Vans: Sister's Boyfriend :P
Right: Sunglasses: Primark, Bralet: Topshop, Sheer Maxi Skirt (Looks like trousers because of the wind): Topshop, Bag: Primark

These are a few of my favourite outfits that I wore out in the evenings. Obviously the bottom middle picture is a bit of a joke, I didn't actually wear huge size 10 vans with my dress, I actually teamed it with my feather sandals. All the outfits had to be floaty and cool enough to bear the hot Turkish nights so I opted for more skirts and dresses than shorts or playsuits this time. My fave outfit was the bottom right as I adore the straps on the top and my new skirt which is sheer from half way down the thigh. Oh, and it even has slits up the sides - perfect for the infamous Angelina Jolie leg pose ;)

What do you think of my holiday outfits?

Daydreaming ♥

Hey beauts

Hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather (I know I should stop talking about it, but it's making my dissertation writing days so much more bearable!) Anyway, due to horrendous amounts of dissertation writing and *should-be* revising times, I've naturally been daydreaming about my holidays and sunbathing, and cocktails in the sun, and golden tans and I could go on and on, so I thought I'd post some lovely pictures of previous holidays which have been making me feel so excited and summery and share the sunny love! I know this isn't exactly beauty related but my blog is also about travel so it does fit in with that :)

P.S. That weird little face thing top right was a yummy cocktail in Mexico called Coco-Loco, and was so creative I just had to put a picture of it up!

I hope this little post has got everyone in the mood for Summer '12! I really can't wait for it to hurry up and get here!

J'adore la Paris ♥

Hey lovelies,

So as my facebook and twitter has shown over the last week I haven't been able to contain my excitement about having a little rendevous with all my besties in Paris this weekend for the gorgeous dance with emily's 21st birthday! I had such an amazing weekend full of so many laughs and gossip and just general celebrating and mooching around! I didn't realise how much I missed my girls whilst being at uni, until getting together! So here's a little selection of my fave photos from the weekend!

x

Things to see:
  • Explore the gorgeous vintage shops in Marais near Chatlet for some great bargains and amazing clothes
  • Obviously, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the river Seine (for some lovely photo opportunities) the Champs Elysee for some amazing shopping time, the Arc de Triomphe
  • Get off at the Metro Trocadero for a GORGEOUS view of the Eiffel Tower (pictured above) - much better than seeing it from below.
  • The latin quarter near Saint Michel at night, for beautiful little cobbled streets full of restaurants and bars. Perfect for lots of cocktail drinking!
So that's my little weekend post, hope you my pictures as much as I do, I had such a great weekend!
As you can see, I also had my hair cut off and went for a fresh new style after trying to decide how to have it here - such a relief! :)

Have you ever been to Paris, and have you ever been on any adventures with your best friends?

What I'm LOVING right now.. #2

So, to continue this little series I have a brand new list of everything that I'm loving at the moment and things that have generally made me happy recently:

  1. Spending lots of time with the boy before he goes back abroad for University. We've really been inseparable and have had such a lovely time, especially for valentines when he treated me to a night away and booked me in for a gorgeous massage and facial. Not loving the fact that he's leaving again though but that's for another day!
  2. The Decleor Hydrating cream, cleanser and toner and hydrating oil that were used on my facial. My skin felt so soft and looked super clean and healthy, which was amazing after my skin has been pretty horrible lately. Definitely going to purchase the lot when I have some pennies spare.
  3. The fact that our flights to Paris are now booked for my gorgeous bestie Emily's 21st birthday in March! Seriously counting down the days until I'm reunited with the girls for an amazing weekend of celebrations and cocktails a la gay pariii!
  4. I'm trying out Avon for the first time next week as I was lured in by the magazines and my housemates' massive orders and I will have some lovely new products waiting for me at my Uni home when I get back. As I've never used it myself I don't know what to expect, but just having a little stash of products waiting for me is exciting me
  5. My Topshop Ambush boots! I got them last weekend and have literally worn them for the majority of the week already! They're so comfy and I LOVE them probably too much! It makes such a lovely change from wearing my UGGs in the cold weather and have made all my outfits this week look so much prettier.
  6. The fact that I finish Uni in a few months. Even though I have had such a great time and have so many amazing memories and will be uber sad to have to leave everything behind, I'm starting to quite look forward to going into the big wide world and starting the next part of my life and being a grown up (maybe).
  7. My new Kate Spade iPhone case. It's so lovely and even though it's making me really obsessed with wiping it to make sure it's shiny (what a loser) it's great as it covers the whole phone unlike my others which didn't cover the top or bottom and didn't fight off any scratches, and did I mention it's really pretty?
So that's what's making me smile at the moment even though all my purchases and more wishlist items are making me very skint indeed! What's are you loving at the moment?

Weekend OOTD ♥

Hey girlies,

I know this is pretty late but horrendous amounts of uni work is to blame for that. I'm actually sneaking a little break to write this because I'm just so fed up of writing about schizophrenia and a little blog reading and writing always helps.
So this weekend I went to London with my boyfriend as his mum was working there and booked us a room for the weekend for freeee! (we even had a suite! - lucky us :D). I had such a lovely weekend and it was just what I needed after stressing over my presentation all week. On the saturday we went to do a little shopping as I had a few things I wanted to get and we just did a little bit of sight-seeing. The weather was pretty chilly so I had to wrap up warm. My new jumper from Topshop was perfect as it's so cosy and snuggly. I put a little lacy top underneath as the jumper is quite short and I didn't want my tummy to get cold :). I even ended up wearing a little thin vest top underneath the other tops because it was THAT cold! I teamed these with my trusty Topshop skinny jeans and my 'winter' coat to keep me nice and snuggly! I also wore my fur headband out of necessity as I didn't want my ears to fall off. The picture does show me wearing my lovely slipper shoes, but in the end I couldn't wear them and had to swap for my uggs, and I'm so glad I did as I wouldn't have been able to do any walking around with my frozen little toes! I accessorized with my new necklace from Topshop that can only be described as a little gold rope and whipped out my trusty new satchel bag! :)

Jumper and Lacy top - both Topshop, Leigh Supersoft Jeans - Topshop, Slippers, Topshop, Satchel - Next, Fur Headband - Miss Selfridge, Coat - Miss Selfridge, Necklace - Topshop, Bracelets - Pandora & Thomas Sabo.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend too! I recently started using bloglovin' too so please follow me on there if you like what you see :)

New York New York ♥

Hello lovelies,
Firstly, Happy New Year! (when is it socially unacceptable to keep saying that?) I know I'm 9 days late to be spreading new year love, but since this is my first chance since being back on english turf again I hope you all drank far too much and brought 2012 in in style! I'm counting on it being the best year yet as I have SO much to look forward to...I'll reveal more in another post soon :) This post is really about my adventures rather than beauty just to mix things up a little..and apologies for how long it is, just got lots to say after my lack of posts recently...

So if you've been reading my recent posts and tweets you'll be well aware that I've not been able to contain my excitement about going to the Big Apple for the first time to celebrate New Year and my 21st Birthday! Well now I'm home it's safe to say I had an AMAZING time just as expected, and I had the best birthday ever! I was actually gutted to have to come home and back to reality!

There's so much too talk about so I'll try and keep it brief and point out some of my favourites and MUST SEE's!...
  1. Soho for a few hours shopping! You are guaranteed to find some quirky things from the little boutique shops and if you're more of a fan of sticking to what you know, you can always hit Topshop or do the department style shopping in Bloomingdales! Definitely the place to visit for some little one offs that you wouldn't necessarily get at home.
  2. Macy's! If for nothing else just the sheer size of the beauty section with all of the gorgeous make up and perfume. Hard not to spend all of your money really especially if the exchange rate is good and you can get things for good prices compared to home. The sales are amazing! An added bonus is that if you show some ID to prove you live outside of America you get an additional 10% off. Winner!
  3. Empire State Building just to see the amazing views of the city, definitely a must see whilst you're there, it's just as good as everyone says it is! Some great photo opportunities there too!
  4. Times Square! This has to be my favourite place on earth! It's always got so much going on and so busy yet still feels safe to be in. Especially when you stand in front of the billboards and get to see yourself on the big screen - Forever21 have their own billboard dedicated to people seeing themselves on the big screen! Times Square on NYE to bring in 2012 was one of my highlights even though it was essential to be there 6 hours early to get a good spot as there was around 1 million people there sharing the experience!  Wrap up warm though and eat a hearty meal before hand because once you're in, you're in! There are always some great celebrities there to bring in the new year, we had such amazing times watching Lady Gaga, Cee Lo Green, Pitbull and even Justin Beiber!
  5. Central park ice skating Just to make you feel young again and convince yourself you're a pro whilst skating around with people who really take it seriously and know what they're doing! The skyline surrounds you and you can just skate away until your heart's content. Follow this by a lovely relaxing walk around the rest of the park to unwind after the busy sightseeing everywhere else! Lovely times!
  6. 5th Avenue Shopping! The Apple shop itself is a tourist attraction being just a glass cube with the shop below! There are some beautiful shops down this street, especially around christmas time when they're all decorated! It's so busy around this time of year though so be prepared to queue, we queued for half an hour to get into Abercrombie and Fitch from the minute it opened. The Hollister shop is another must see as they have a live feed of the surfers in California being displayed on the front of their shop, not something you see everyday! Definitely somewhere you can shop till you drop!

There's so much more that I did - even more of the typical touristy things (Statue of Liberty etc- all has to be done) but I won't write more of an essay, although one more tip is definitely go on a bus tour where you can hop on and hop off, makes sight seeing so much easier and you can cram so much into a day without getting tired! If you haven't already been you should really make it one of your life aims to get out there! Especially around Christmas or New Year to join in with all the festivities and see all of the beaut decorations! It's amazing. Such a great start to 2012!

I also had the best 21st Birthday! I had a lovely meal with my best girls who bought me lots of gorgeous things and I got totally spoilt by my family and boyfriend in New York...I'll do a separate post soon about my beautiful gifts, including my gorgeous Vivienne Westwood Jewellery and my new Mulberry purse and they'll definitely be featured a lot when I start doing OOTD's. My new years resolution is to get my blogging mojo back and get the confidence to start being more adventurous! Wish me luck!

What did you all do for New Year and do you have any new years resolutions?

Late Christmas Wishes ♥

Heyy lovelies,
I know I've been slacking with my blog posts over christmas but I've been so busy over the last few weeks travelling here and there and just being generally festive that I haven't even had time to open my laptop!  I hope you all had a lovely christmas and that you got lots of lovely things off Santa! I had such a lovely time and was truly spoilt by my gorgeous family and friends!

Just before christmas I got to go to Hamburg to meet my boyfriend before he came home for christmas as he was studying at University over there. It was so lovely and the christmas markets were amazing! They sold loads of little goodies and it really got me in the festive mood! I was actually sad to leave even though I knew the festivities would carry on when I got home. One of my favourite little stalls was a chocolate stall which told all kinds of DIY tools. I don't even really like chocolate or do any sort of DIY but the detail was amazing and they were so well made that I was really impressed. Here they are in all their chocolatey glory...

x

MUST SEE's include: 1)The Christmas Markets (definitely a german speciality) these open late November early December and run right up until the weekend before Christmas, so lots of time to get a visit, but wrap up warm, it gets cold around then. 2) The Esplinade, it's so beautiful and although it was too cold in December to sit outside on the waterfront - I went in September and although quite chilly at times, sitting by the water is so relaxing 3) Alsterhaus - An amazing department store with all some amazing beauty concessions and floors upon floors of designer clothes, the food hall is also amazing with gorgeous deli counters, a cheese bar, a fish bar, and not forgetting the beautiful Veuve Clicquot Champagne bar which is lovely for a mid shopping treat!

I got some lovely presents for christmas and some of my favourites include my new lovely Cath Kidston make up bag and toiletry bag which I adore! I also got a lovely little make up bag to go in my handbag from River Island which is furry and beautiful. Some gorgeous Topshop Nail varnishes in gold and silver shades - they're beaut and apply so smoothly. Gucci Guilty perfume, Mark Hill heated rollers to add volume and curls to my hair, and finally my ultimate favourite -my Swarovski Necklace from my lovely boyfriend. I was treated to lots of other lovely things but I just thought I'd share some of my faves with you all. I'll do more posts soon about my other presents and OOTD'S :) I'm still yet to master the best way to use my rollers but I'm getting there and soon my hair will hopefully look much more 'voluminous' and luscious (I have high hopes!) I'll post my progress...

I'm also lucky enough to be going to New York on thursday to celebrate the BIG 21! And I'm so so excited! I'll definitely be doing a few posts about that with all my photos and little buys over there! And also what I am treated to for my birthday! As I won't be blogging until the New Year now I hope you all have a Happy New Year! :D See you in 2012!
